Hiking Around Las Vegas, Spring Mountains (Mt. Charleston), Kyle Canyon
On the North Loop Trail, the trail climbs past Cave Spring and through an old burn area to near the crest of North Ridge, the ridge that connects Mummy Mountain with the summit of Mt Charleston. The trail mostly runs along the south side of the ridge, occasionally breaking out onto the crest of the ridge at saddles that provide views into Lee Canyon and points north. Otherwise, grand views sweep across Kyle Canyon to the South Ridge from Harris Peak in the west to Mt Charleston in the east. This is a grand and scenic bit of trail, but watch your footing rather than the scenery to safeguard the trek.
